Teaching Philosophy
I believe in teaching the whole child. In the world we live in today, youth need to be educated physically, socially, and emotionally with the standard education they receive. I plan on achieving this with my classroom management plan, helping create a safe place for students to grow from their mistakes. I believe a large part of a youth’s success in school is being able to safely experience competition of some sort. My path through higher education has given me the amazing opportunity to work with aspiring and diverse student athletes from all levels of education. The largest hurdle for the younger athletes and learners is helping them grasp the concept of failing forward. I will create a classroom environment with learners where failure is not feared, but used as a tool for personal growth. Knowing this has put a larger emphasis on differentiation to create multiple avenues for every student to succeed. The youth I see throughout my career will be the professionals of tomorrow, and as an educator it is my job to facilitate and provide opportunities for them to grow.
